Chapter 23: Fashion as Collective Behavior
Summary:
In this article Kimball speaks of how human behavior is affected by fashion. Fashion massages the irrational and emotional parts of our human brains. It is considered a social ritual and is similar to crowd behavior. Through fashion we wish to be individuals but also be part of a whole, an irrational want by nature. Fashion speaks of the human collective unconscious.
